Prescriptions

From the prescription photo to the entered order, with the dose check.

The prescription arrives via WhatsApp, the website or at the counter. Iris, an AI agent, transcribes it, checks each dose against the pharmacopeia and enters the order. The pharmacist assesses the prescription and approves the formula.

The module agent

You receive the prescription. Iris transcribes and checks it.

Iris Albuquerque reads the prescription as a photo or PDF and transcribes the prescriber, patient, components, doses, dosage form and dosage instructions. Before saving, she checks each dose against the pharmacopeia’s ranges and flags anything outside them. The order is then ready for the pharmacist to assess.

I transcribed Dr. A. M.’s prescription, CRM-SP 12•••: vitamin D3 2,000 IU and magnesium chelate 200 mg per capsule, 60 capsules, 1 a day. Both doses are within the reference range on file and both components are in the catalog. I entered the order under M. S.’s name. It is awaiting the pharmacist’s assessment.

Awaiting the pharmacist

Illustrative example.

From receipt to quote

Three steps. The pharmacist has the final word.

01

The prescription arrives

The customer sends the photo or PDF via WhatsApp or the website, and Clara opens the order. At the counter, the team attaches the prescription to the order.

Clara · customer service

02

Iris transcribes and checks

She transcribes the prescriber, professional council registration, patient, components, doses, dosage form and dosage instructions. She compares each dose with the reference ranges, flags anything outside them and enters the order linked to the customer and the catalog.

03

The pharmacist assesses and approves

The pharmacist assesses the prescription, reviews the alerts and approves the formula. Only then does Clara send the approved quote to the customer.

The decision is the pharmacist’s

Dose check

Anything outside the range shows up before saving.

For each component, Iris compares the transcribed dose and concentration with the pharmacopeia reference ranges the pharmacy has entered and with the catalog product. Anything outside them is flagged before saving and stays marked on the order. The check helps prevent transcription and dosing errors. It does not replace the pharmacist’s assessment.

Dose above or below the reference range

Concentration that does not match the catalog product

Component that is not in the pharmacy’s catalog

Illegible passage, flagged for checking against the original prescription

What stays with the pharmacist

Iris transcribes. The pharmacist assesses.

01

Assessing the prescription

The prescriber, the prescription’s validity and the formula are assessed by the pharmacist. Iris’s alert is a starting point, not a conclusion.

02

Approving the formula

The order only moves on to the quote after the pharmacist approves the formula. When there is an alert, the pharmacist decides whether the order moves forward.

03

Counseling the patient

Questions about the formula, its use and the dose go to the pharmacist. The AI agents do not give clinical advice.

On the order

Each prescription stays linked to the customer and the catalog.

Customer and catalog

The order is entered under the customer’s name, with the prescription image attached to the transcription. Each component points to the catalog product.

Portaria 344/98

When the pharmacy has registered the product on a Portaria 344/98 list, the order shows that list and the prescription retention it requires, for the pharmacist to check.

Health data

The prescription contains sensitive personal data, protected by the LGPD. The image and the transcription stay on the order and are only visible to users with access to the area.

Questions about prescriptions.

No. She transcribes it, checks the doses against the reference ranges and enters the order. Assessing the prescription and approving the formula are the pharmacist’s role.
Iris flags the passage she could not read instead of filling it in, and the prescription image stays attached to the transcription. The pharmacist checks the transcription against the original prescription and decides how to proceed.
Against the pharmacopeia reference ranges your pharmacy enters and reviews in the system, and against the catalog products. The check only flags what falls outside the range: it helps prevent transcription and dosing errors, but it does not replace the pharmacist’s assessment.
A prescription is health data, sensitive data under the LGPD. The pharmacy is the controller; VUpharma processes this data as a processor, only to transcribe, prepare and deliver the order. The image and the transcription stay on the order, visible only to users with access to the area.
